About
Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Lene, and I am the founder of Sea & Solace Counselling in Squamish, BC. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am in the process of becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). While I await final accreditation, I continue to offer compassionate, client-centered support to individuals navigating life’s complexities at a reduced rate. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over seven years as a high school teacher after moving to Canada from Belgium. This experience continues to shape my work and taught me to listen deeply, stay curious, and support others through transitions, stress, and moments of emotional overwhelm. My time in the classroom also gave me insight into the courage it takes to be human in a fast-paced and often disconnected world. At Sea & Solace, I work with people of all ages who are seeking peace in the midst of life’s storms. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, or simply a longing for more clarity and connection, this is a space to slow down and come home to yourself. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and integrative drawing from multiple therapeutic modalities to meet your unique needs. In-person, online and phone sessions are available in English, French, and Dutch, allowing you to connect and express yourself in the language that feels most natural and comforting. I believe healing doesn’t come from fixing what’s “wrong,” but from understanding and reconnecting with the parts of ourselves that have been unheard, unseen, or misunderstood. I invite you to explore at your own pace and I'm honoured to walk alongside you.
